From an early age, Ken Wincel knew two things: he wanted to master computers and he wanted to write. Growing up in the 1980s, he pursued both passions—carving out a successful IT career while honing the craft of writing through technical documentation and teaching. But it wasn’t until later in life, through a series of painful trials and personal transformation, that his heart was drawn to write about what matters most—faith, hope, and the unwavering love of Jesus Christ.
Ken doesn’t consider himself the best writer, but rather a gifted teacher who makes complex truths simple and accessible. His work is deeply rooted in Scripture, shaped by hard-won life experience, and powered by a desire to bring readers closer to God. Whether journaling, blogging, or compiling studies into devotional books, Ken writes not to impress—but to help.
“If one paragraph, one book, or one word brings someone closer to Jesus, then everything I’ve endured is worth it.”
Ken speaks to the curious skeptic, the struggling believer, and the weary seeker—because he’s been all three. He writes for those questioning, hurting, or simply wanting to grow. As someone who came to faith after wrestling with doubt, Ken’s voice carries both intellectual honesty and spiritual depth.
His creative process begins with the Word. He reads, reflects, journals, and dives deep into original languages, historical context, and prayerful meditation. Influenced by teachers like Louie Giglio, Beth Moore, and The Bible Project—but shaped most by the Holy Spirit—Ken writes from a place of humility and awe.
Outside the page, Ken is a multi-talented IT professional, outdoorsman, pianist, gardener, problem solver, artist, and devoted cook. Nature brings him peace; Scripture gives him purpose.
His faith is anchored in one truth:
“Jesus is always with me. He is always my 4th man in the fire.”
Ken’s favorite verse remains John 3:16, the first he memorized as a child—and the one that still centers his heart today.
Currently, Ken is writing a weekly devotional blog series titled “Monday with Matthew,” which explores the Gospel through Scripture, word studies, character deep-dives, and personal reflection. Future projects include in-depth studies on David, Psalms, Proverbs, Romans, and the prophets.
He invites readers to engage with his work, reflect, and ask:
“What did this mean to you? How has it helped? And who might need to hear this next?”
